Tips on Packing Jewelry for Travel
Who doesn’t love a girls' getaway?! When it comes to vacations we take our jewels seriously because we can wear playful statement necklaces literally every. single. day. Vacation is a time to relax and unwind so leave the sentimental pieces behind and bring on the fun looks!
When going away, always bring some neutral pieces – basics stud earrings, hoops, and a delicate necklace will always work with any outfit. Choose a few statement necklaces and earrings to wear with your beach dress and that pretty evening number. Bring your favorite cocktail ring and some dainty rings for stacking.
Don’t forget to store your jewels in your carry-on so you have them with you and you don’t have to worry losing them or the weight the add to your luggage. If you do pack them in your checked bag, make sure to cushion them between soft clothes.
When packing jewelry for travel, it’s important to pack them the right way so they don’t get tangled or damaged. Here are some of the best ways to travel with jewelry - what we always do at olive + piper!
The Jewelry Pouch
When you receive jewels from us, they come in a cloth pouch that you can reuse to store your jewelry in. These are always good to use because they keep your jewelry safe from sunlight, scratches and limits moisture. These pouches make traveling with necklaces and jewelry super easy, and they fit into your carry-on nicely. We also recommend bracelet rolls, which are a great way to organized your bracelets and keep them stacked nicely.

Daily Pill Box
Nothing is better than a seven-day pillbox for your smaller earrings and rings. Not only does this keep them ultra-organized but you can pre-organize what days you will be wearing what so you can grab and go! Seriously one of the best ways to travel with jewelry!
Straws
Traveling with necklaces can become frustrating. Keep your necklaces untangled by slipping one end of the chain through a drinking straw then closing the clasp. It seems strange (we know!) but trust us, it keeps you from having to deal with tangled necklaces.

Ziploc Bag
Ziploc bags may be great for packing toiletries and vitamins, but they're also perfect for packing jewelry for travel. Keep your jewelry safe from moisture, scratches and damages by putting them in a Ziploc bag for extra protection. Plus, in case of leakage with your toiletries, your Ziploc bag will keep your jewels dry.
Jewelry Rolls
Jewelry rolls are the ultimate travel solution. With various straps and pockets for each piece of jewelry, your bracelets, necklaces and earrings will be kept safe with no worry of breakage. Just roll it up and place in your suitcase.
Don't forget these care tips!
If you're traveling in the summertime, you're most likely going somewhere hot, sunny, and even humid. And as good as those necklaces look with your sundress or bikini, if you're getting too hot, your jewelry's probably taking a hit too. Make sure to avoid wearing your jewelry in the water and ocean, if you're sweating, or with your sunscreen and perfumes - the chemicals will react with the plating and materials, and cause it to wear quickly! Take your jewels off and store them in a safe place.
